1. LCD illumination is available for use in dark water or during night diving. It turns on for 10 seconds when the shutter release button is half-presses and turns off when the button is fully pressed.
2. Aperture Dial was inherited from MM II-EX for ease of operation. Ergonomically designed for operation while holding the camera. Six aperture levels (F3.8, F5.6, F8, F11, F16 and F22) are selectable.
3. By turning Strobe Bracketing Dial (-1, -2/3, -1/3, 0, +1/3, +2/3, +1), the user can manually adjust the value of EV compensation.
 
 
4. The camera automatically shuts off power when not used for 30 seconds after being turned on. Power can be turned on again by half-pressing the shutter release or turning the power switch off and on.
5. The user can choose either "infinity" or "0.6 m" (close) focusing. Depth of field (F5.6) at point "infinity" is 0.7 m - infinity. Depth of field (F5.6) at point (close) "0.6 m" is 0.4 m - 1 m.
6. MM III 's 5-pin N-type connector is the industry standard and accepts most of the SEA&SEA strobe models. Dual-strobe photography is possible with an optional adaptor.
 
 
7. Turns on for 5 seconds when the shutter release button is half-pressed and automatically turns off when the button is fully pressed. An ON/OFF switch can disable the target light when not needed.
8. Pressing the shutter speed button for 2 seconds automatically turns on the aperture priority mode. If your choice of aperture is beyond the range of the film, the camera will give a warning and an aperture correction can be made up or down as needed.
